Bank of Maldives (BML) has introduced PayMV QR codes, enabling customers to make faster and more convenient fund transfers through its mobile banking app.

The new feature allows users to securely send and receive money by scanning or generating QR codes within the BML Mobile Banking application. The Bank announced that a mobile update to enable the service will be released soon.

With this introduction, BML has become the first bank in the country to meet the requirements outlined by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) under its Maldives Payment System Development (MPSD) project.

In addition to launching QR-based payments, BML recently announced Swipe, its upcoming multicurrency digital wallet, which is scheduled for beta testing in December. Together, these initiatives represent another step in BML’s drive to enhance customer convenience and strengthen digital banking services across the country.
