Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has reaffirmed the Maldives’ full support for the outcomes of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC).

The Speaker made the remarks during a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on the sidelines of the conference. Discussions focused on key outcomes of the ISC, parliamentary cooperation, and strengthening bilateral relations.

During the meeting, Speaker Abdul Raheem commended the successful conclusion of the Conference, highlighting its significance in fostering inter-parliamentary dialogue and cooperation on issues of peace, security, and development. He reiterated the Maldives’ full support for the outcomes of the conference and expressed commitment to enhancing collaboration between parliaments in addressing shared global and regional challenges.

The Speaker further highlighted the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to address shared challenges and foster closer ties between friendly nations.

He expressed appreciation to the Parliament of Pakistan for the warm hospitality extended to the Maldivian delegation. Additionally, Speaker Abdul Raheem conveyed his condolences to the victims and families affected by the tragic attack in Islamabad, strongly condemning the act of terror.
