Maldives Police Service has announced that the removal of illegally parked vehicles in Hulhumalé will begin on Thursday, 6 December, as part of an operation targeting vehicles obstructing public spaces and violating parking regulations.
According to police, the operation will cover vehicles parked unlawfully on vacant plots and public roads, as well as unregistered vehicles and those registered to zones other than designated ‘A’ zones. The towing will be carried out in coordination with relevant authorities.
Police further stated that they will not be responsible for any damage incurred during the towing process or for the safekeeping of removed vehicles. Owners will be required to retrieve their vehicles from the designated holding area and arrange transport to another location at their own expense.
Authorities have urged the public to remove all illegally parked vehicles before 23:30 on 5 December to avoid penalties and towing.
