Police to begin towing illegally parked vehicles in Malé from Monday

The Maldives Police Service has announced that it will begin towing illegally parked vehicles from the streets of Malé City starting Monday, 23 February.

The  police said the enforcement action will target vehicles parked in violation of regulations, unregistered vehicles, and vehicles registered outside Zone A. Authorities have instructed vehicle owners to remove such vehicles from public roads before 11:30 p.m. on 22 February.

Police said any vehicles found in violation after the deadline will be towed to locations designated by the Maldives Police Service.

The police also clarified that it will not be held responsible for any damage incurred during the towing process or while the vehicles are held at the designated locations. According to the police, the responsibility for retrieving and transporting towed vehicles will rest with the vehicle owners.
