The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Skills Development has opened applications for 22 scholarships offered by Al-Azhar University for higher education.

The scholarships comprise five places in Law and Sharia and 17 places in Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics. Applicants must be Maldivian citizens, be under 30 years of age as of August 15, and be in good standing with the repayment of any education loans obtained through the ministry.

Applications must be submitted through the designated online portal by 1:30 p.m. on August 6. Required documents include MQA-attested academic certificates, academic transcripts, a good conduct certificate from the applicant's most recent school, and a medical report confirming HIV, AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) test results.
