The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare has announced opportunities for higher education abroad in various fields of agriculture.

This initiative is being implemented by the Government in collaboration with the World Bank under the "Transforming Fisheries Management in South-West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives Project".

The scholarship programme offers four opportunities for Bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Botany and Entomology, and Natural Resource Management. Additionally, one scholarship is available for a Master’s degree in Plant Protection.

Applicants for the master’s degree scholarship must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have at least two years of practical experience in agriculture or a related area.

For the bachelor’s degree scholarships, applicants must have a minimum of five subjects at O-level with a grade of ‘C’ or above or at least three A-level subjects with a grade of ‘C’ or above.

Applications for the scholarships should be submitted to the Management Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare. The deadline for submission is 12:00 p.m. on February 20, 2025.
