According to customs officials, the handling of the shipment adhered to standard procedures for processing imported goods. They emphasised that goods not legally restricted are cleared for entry, with due consideration given to applicable laws and regulations.

Customs assured the public that all imported goods are subject to thorough inspection to ensure compliance with national laws and that they remain committed to facilitating the lawful flow of goods into the Maldives.
