A 27-year-old Maldivian man injured during an altercation in Malé City late last night has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment.

The incident, which took place at approximately 11:40 pm, involved the victim being attacked with a sharp object, according to police reports.

Authorities confirmed that the injured man was swiftly transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical attention.

In a subsequent statement, IGMH disclosed that the man had been admitted for treatment and later discharged at around 4:30 am. However, no information has been provided regarding his condition following his release.

Police have since launched an investigation into the incident. Although no arrests have been made at this stage, efforts to gather further details about the circumstances surrounding the attack remain ongoing.
