Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Khaleel emphasised the vital role of international relations for small island nations during a Model SAARC Summit at Ahmadhiyya International School on Saturday evening.

Speaking at the event, Minister Khaleel highlighted the need for Maldivian leaders who understand global challenges, addressing students participating in the 2025 summit simulation. He stressed education's importance in building the nation's future diplomatic capabilities.

The Minister praised student initiatives in diplomatic discourse, noting their potential impact on national development. He commended participants' creativity and determination in tackling regional issues.

The event, organised by Ahmadhiyya School students, replicated the annual South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit format. Students engaged in diplomatic discussions and debates focused on regional cooperation in South Asia.
