Firefighters from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Southern Area Command, Hulhumeedhoo Fire Station, successfully extinguished a wetland fire in Hulhudhoo on Saturday night.

The fire was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m., and emergency teams acted swiftly to contain the blaze. By 8:40 p.m., the fire was fully extinguished, preventing further damage to the surrounding area.

The MNDF reported that the fire had spread across a large area, but the operation was made possible through a collective effort. Firefighters from the Hithadhoo Fire Station, officers from the Hulhumeedhoo Police Station, staff from the Addu City Council, and members of the public all contributed to the successful containment of the fire.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
