President Dr Muizzu sends Republic Day greetings to Indian leaders

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed Republic Day greetings to the President of the Republic of India, Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the Maldivian Government and its people.

In his messages to the Indian leaders, President Dr Muizzu extended warm wishes while acknowledging the deep-rooted relationship between the Maldives and India. He highlighted the enduring partnership between the two countries, grounded in mutual trust, respect, and understanding, and reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancing these ties.

President Dr Muizzu also expressed his hopes for continued peace, progress, and prosperity for the Indian people and extended his best wishes for the health and well-being of the Indian leadership.

The President echoed these sentiments on his official ‘X’ account, joining the celebration of India’s Republic Day, which commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950.

The Maldives and India established diplomatic relations on July 26, 1965, and have maintained close ties across various sectors over the years.
