The second batch of the initial training programme for the formation of Ijuthimaee Badhahi Madhadhuverin (IBAMA) groups began in Baa Atoll on Sunday.

The five-day programme is scheduled to run from January 26 to 30, 2025.

Participants in this batch include members from Dhonfanu, Kihaadhoo, Kudarikilu, Kendhoo, Dharavandhoo, and Kamadhoo in Baa Atoll. Additionally, IBAMA members who were unable to complete the first batch of training are also taking part in this session.

The training programme is divided into two components: the theoretical sessions are being conducted in Baa Eydhafushi, while the practical sessions will take place across the six participating islands.

A total of 33 stakeholders, including representatives from local councils, Women’s Development Committees, schools, healthcare facilities, and the police, are actively participating in the programme.

IBAMA is a community-level multi-sectoral mechanism designed to identify vulnerable children and families and connect them with necessary services. The initiative facilitates coordination among social service providers, including education, health, police, social workers, and local councils.
