Police have launched a search operation for a missing Chinese woman in the Maldives.

The missing person has been identified as Su Xiaoning, a 30-year-old Chinese national.

Su's family reported her disappearance to the Maldives Police Service through the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives on January 22, 2025, after losing contact with her since her arrival in the country.

Following the report, police have mobilised all relevant departments, and an extensive search operation is currently underway.

Investigations have revealed that Su entered the Maldives on a tourist visa on October 13, 2024. She was last seen checking out from a guesthouse in Malé during the morning hours of October 24, 2024. Immigration records confirm that she has not departed from the country since then. Despite thorough search efforts, authorities have yet to locate her or gather any information about her whereabouts.
