The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has issued a final 45-day notice to Jaah Investment Pvt Ltd to complete the construction of 'The Gardens' housing project in Hulhumale’.

HDC has stated that failure to meet this deadline will result in the termination of the corporation’s agreement with Jaah Investment.

Launched in 2017, the project has experienced numerous delays, with HDC granting repeated deadline extensions. However, the corporation’s board has now initiated the final stage of cancellation, citing the developer’s inability to complete and hand over the apartments on time.

The latest notice mandates Jaah Investment to complete construction and deliver the 83 two- and three-bedroom flats within the stipulated 45-day period. Should the company fail to meet this requirement, HDC has stated that it will take over the project to ensure its completion.

This decision comes as HDC addresses mounting concerns from buyers who have been awaiting their flats for years. The corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to expediting the handover process to meet the expectations of affected investors.

Flat owners have raised their grievances regarding the delays, reportedly bringing the matter to the attention of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The stalled project has caused significant frustration among those who have invested in the apartments.
