President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Haa Alifu Muraidhoo Council, Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of institutions to discuss matters needed for the island's development.
The council raised several infrastructure concerns, including coastal erosion, harbour accessibility problems that affect transportation, and the need for improvements to the harbour's entrance channel and breakwater.
The discussion also covered the condition of local facilities, with council members pointing out issues like deteriorating roads, electrical system problems, and the desire for a futsal facility. They also emphasised needed upgrades to educational and healthcare facilities.
In response, the President, along with attending Ministers, provided updates on these matters and directed the formation of a collaborative education development plan involving the council, school, and education ministry. The President also instructed officials to address the health centre's challenges, with an emphasis on prioritising and implementing improvements in phases.
The meeting was held this morning at the Muraidhoo School.
