President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has highlighted Filladhoo's significant development potential, noting its strategic location and sizeable land mass that could benefit many citizens.

Speaking at a community meeting at the Filladhoo Fitness and Recreation Centre during his tour of North Thiladhunmathi Atoll (Haa Alifu Atoll), the President emphasised that the island's development would benefit numerous Maldivian citizens. He specifically highlighted Filladhoo's importance for potential international airport feasibility studies and tourism diversification in the region.

The President announced that modernising the island's roads would be the top priority in Filladhoo's development agenda. He further outlined plans for systematic development of healthcare, education and sports facilities on the island.

President Dr Muizzu also discussed the Government's initiatives to boost tourism development in Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu atolls, providing detailed updates on ongoing Government projects in the region.

Following the community meeting, the President officially launched the Magey Solar programme, marking a new phase in the island's development.
