Minister of Social and Family Development, Dr Aishath Shiham, held discussions with the Resident Representative of UNDP Maldives, Enrico Gaveglia, on the implementation plan of the National Action Plan on Disability Inclusion (NAPDI).

The five-year plan, developed in collaboration with UNDP, aims to enhance the well-being, education, employment opportunities, and accessibility of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the Maldives.

During the meeting, UNDP highlighted the inclusive and consultative approach taken in the development of NAPDI, emphasising the active engagement of PWDs and their representative organisations.

Both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring meaningful progress under the action plan.
