President calls for national unity in pursuit of development

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called on all Maldivians to stand united in the pursuit of national development, emphasising that patriotism and collective effort are key to the country’s progress.
Addressing residents of HA. Hoarafushi during his visit to islands in the North Thiladhunmathi Atoll, the President urged citizens to take pride in every national achievement and to prioritise unity as a fundamental value.
He stressed that stability and cohesion are essential for success, expressing his confidence that the Maldives will continue on a path of sustained growth with the support of its people. He highlighted the importance of evolving approaches to national challenges, stressing that this responsibility is shared by all Maldivians.
President Dr Muizzu stated that every citizen should view the nation's development as a personal source of pride and emphasised that political differences should not hinder unity. He stressed that coming together for the greater good of the country is essential for its progress.
The President also reaffirmed the constitutional rights of all Maldivians, assuring that his Government remains committed to upholding these freedoms. While citizens are free to pursue lawful activities, he emphasised that no one has the right to act outside the law.
Concluding his address, President Dr Muizzu appealed to every Maldivian to foster unity and harmony as a personal responsibility. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring national stability and firmly stated that no attempts to disrupt peace through unlawful means would be tolerated.
