President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé after a three-day visit to the islands of North Thiladhunmathi Atoll, where he engaged with local communities and inaugurated several development projects.

During his visit, the President toured 10 islands in the atoll, meeting with island council representatives, women’s development committees, and local administrators. These discussions focused on identifying key concerns, addressing the challenges faced by residents, and exploring solutions to improve their livelihoods.

The President assured local councils and residents that the Government would provide the necessary support to implement projects in the most critical areas. As part of his commitment to enhancing services in island communities, he participated in official ceremonies to hand over the installation of ATM services, aimed at improving banking accessibility across all inhabited islands.

To accelerate progress in development of islands, the President encouraged collaboration between island councils, Government institutions, and ministers. His visit was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, reinforcing the Administration’s dedication to addressing regional concerns efficiently.

The visit to North Thiladhunmathi Atoll forms part of a broader initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls, facilitating direct engagement with local councils and community representatives to drive nationwide development efforts.
