Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel met with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during a significant meeting in Riyadh on Thursday.

The talks, which took place at Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry, saw both ministers affirming their commitment to strengthening the robust diplomatic relationship between their nations. They emphasised the importance of maintaining and enhancing bilateral cooperation.

During the discussions, Minister Dr Khaleel highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations, particularly emphasising their shared Islamic heritage and mutual interests that underpin their diplomatic relationship. He expressed the Maldives' profound appreciation for Saudi Arabia's consistent support throughout the nation's development journey.

Both ministers explored opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation and agreed to maintain close coordination in multilateral forums.

The Maldivian delegation accompanying Minister Dr Khaleel included Ahmed Sareer, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary, Bilateral; Ms. Khadeeja Najeeha, Joint Secretary; and the Embassy Counsellor.
