Maldives Immigration has apprehended a foreign national who was on the run, following raids at two locations in the capital city.

According to a statement released on the agency’s official X account, the operation was carried out after receiving a tip-off through the Immigration Watch, a system established to register cases of illegal immigrants.

Acting on the intelligence, the agency’s task force conducted searches at two locations in Male'. Sources within the immigration authority confirmed that one of the premises was suspected to be harbouring the fugitive.

Based on the information received, officers searched the location and successfully apprehended the absconding individual.

The foreign national was taken into custody and is now under the agency’s supervision.
