Two mosques in Hulhumalé near completion, three more expected next year

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that two privately funded mosques in Hulhumalé are set to be completed this year, while three more are expected to be finished next year.
Speaking to local media, the Ministry stated that a total of five mosques are being built in Hulhumalé by private individuals and companies. Among them, two mosques will be completed this year, while three will be finished by 2026.
The two mosques to be completed this year are being funded by two private individuals and SJ Construction. The mosques built by the private individuals are expected to be completed by May, while the mosque being built by SJ Construction in Hulhumalé Phase Two is expected to be completed by December, with concrete arch construction currently in progress, according to the Ministry.
Among the mosques scheduled for completion next year, one is being constructed by Fedo Private Limited, with its concrete work already underway. This mosque is expected to be completed by March 2026. Another mosque, being built by Batch Construction, is also projected to be completed by March 2026. Similarly, Sunfront Private Limited is carrying out concrete work on its mosque, which is also expected to be completed by March next year.
