A specialised conference on hemodialysis treatment has been launched in the Maldives to improve dialysis care and introduce advanced treatment methods.
Organised by Medtech Maldives in collaboration with Japan’s Nipro Corporation, the Medtech-Nipro Hemodialysis Conference & Training brings together medical experts, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders to discuss advancements in dialysis care.
The conference, inaugurated by Dharumavantha Hospital’s Deputy CEO Dr Shah Mahir on February 22, 2025, is attended by doctors and nurses from hospitals across Malé, including Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), ADK Hospital, and Tree Top Hospital. Key discussions focus on hemodiafiltration, kidney transplants, and new innovations in dialysis treatment.
Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Executive Director of Renal Health Services, Singapore, Dr Behram A. The event aims to enhance dialysis services in the Maldives by integrating international protocols and improving patient outcomes.
Medtech Maldives has announced plans to modernise dialysis equipment, expand access to remote healthcare centres, and train over 100 nurses in 2025, following Singapore’s renal care standards. The company is also working towards establishing a Nephrology Society to foster collaboration among medical professionals, patients, and industry stakeholders.
Dr Shah Mahir emphasised the importance of early detection and preventive measures for kidney and heart diseases. He highlighted the government's commitment to strengthening healthcare services through technology, training, and improved data management systems.
The conference, which runs from 22 to 25 February 2025, is part of Medtech Maldives' ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services. With 16 years of experience in the healthcare sector, the company continues to play a key role in improving dialysis treatment in the Maldives.
