The Labour Minister of the Government of Karnataka, Republic of India, His Excellency Santosh S. Lad, reaffirmed India's role as a close and reliable partner in the Maldives' development during a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

During the courtesy call at the President’s Office on Monday, both the President and the Labour Minister highlighted the close and longstanding relationship between the two countries. President Dr Muizzu specifically emphasised Bengaluru's significance as a vital hub for many Maldivians seeking education and healthcare.

Concluding the call, both leaders expressed optimism that the establishment of the Maldives International Financial Centre (MIFC) would elevate bilateral relations and yield mutual benefits for both nations.
