Key administrative changes made to Maldives Police Service

The Maldives Police Service has appointed new heads to nine key divisions in a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and service delivery.

The reshuffle, which took effect on May 8, involves leadership changes across several specialised units, including economic crime investigations, drug enforcement, gang crime, counter-narcotics operations, and traffic policing.

According to the Police, the changes are intended to improve operational effectiveness and enhance the overall quality of service.

The newly appointed officers are:

  • Superintendent of Police Abdulla Rasheed – Head of Economic Crime Investigation
  • Superintendent of Police Ahmed Muslim – Head of Drug Enforcement
  • Superintendent of Police Mohamed Sabah – Head of Gang Crime Investigation
  • Chief Inspector of Police Fatih Mohamed – Head of Counter-Narcotics Operations
  • Superintendent of Police Rajni Shuaib – Head of Thilamale’ Police
  • Chief Inspector of Police Ibrahim Imran – Head of Traffic Police
  • Superintendent of Police Ishaq Adam Fulhu – Head of Specialist Tactical Response
  • Chief Inspector of Police Mohammad Shaheem – Head of Custodial Standards and Development
  • Superintendent of Police Nahid Hussain – Head of Protective Security

The Police Service stated that these appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its administrative structure and ensure more effective law enforcement across the country.
