President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stressed the need to make children aware of the rapid developments and major changes taking place in the world.
In a message shared on the occasion of Children’s Day, the President said that with the right support and guidance today, Maldivian children will have the ability and courage to move forward with the nation tomorrow.
Describing children as a source of comfort and as the future of the country, the President said it is a shared national responsibility to raise a capable and resilient generation. He encouraged families and the broader society to instil values that promote respect for national sovereignty, dignity, and integrity.
President Dr Muizzu also called for protecting children from harmful influences and ensuring access to modern education and skills training that would enable them to participate meaningfully in national development.
Addressing children directly, the President encouraged them to strive for self-improvement every day by learning new things and working to make each day more successful than the last. He also reminded them to observe the five daily prayers, respect religion, embrace Maldivian customs, and foster a love for the country.
