The Prosecutor General’s Office has appointed two of its senior legal counsels to key leadership positions—Deputy Prosecutor General and Assistant Prosecutor General—under the leadership of Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef.

Senior Public Prosecutor Aisha Mohamed has been appointed as Deputy Prosecutor General. Aisha, who joined the office on December 2011, is recognised as one of the most experienced and longest-serving lawyers currently in the institution. She will serve alongside the current Deputy Prosecutor General, Mahmood Saleem, who will remain in his post.

Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor Hussain Saamy has been appointed as Assistant Prosecutor General. Samamy joined the office in July 2018 and has since represented the state in several high-profile cases, earning a reputation as a capable and experienced counsel.

The appointments were formally announced today during a media briefing held by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
