President and First Lady attend Children’s Day 2025 celebrations

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed attended the official Children’s Day 2025 celebrations held at Hulhumalé Central Park.
This year’s programme, coordinated for the first time by the Ministry of Education, witnessed vibrant participation from schools and communities across the country.
Observed annually on May 10, Children’s Day in the Maldives celebrates the rights, wellbeing, and aspirations of children. In recognition of the day, the President also shared a message via X.
The 2025 celebration featured a wide range of engaging activities, aimed at creating meaningful experiences for both children and their families. The events included educational exhibits, recreational games, and cultural performances, reflecting a collaborative effort among schools to foster creativity and inclusivity.
Upon their arrival at the venue, President Dr Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed were warmly received by senior officials from the Ministry of Education along with school principals. A notable highlight of the event was a ceremonial presentation of a gift to the President by participating students, symbolising the spirit of appreciation and unity.
The President and First Lady toured various exhibition stalls showcasing student initiatives and educational projects. They also attended a stage performance delivered by students, and interacted with children and families, underscoring their commitment to child development and family engagement.
