A tourist who went missing while snorkelling near Maafushi has been found dead.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed that divers from the Malé Area Command Second Squadron recovered the body near Kandoomaathila at 5:17 p.m. today.

The body was transported to Maafushi Health Centre, where it was confirmed that the man had passed away.

The tourist was reported missing at 10:02 a.m., prompting continuous search efforts by MNDF divers and the Coast Guard until his recovery.
