First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated new healthcare services at Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital during the hospital’s 43rd anniversary celebration.

Among the new services are a telemedicine service and a dedicated endometriosis clinic. A new non-communicable diseases (NCDs) clinic, focused on improving long-term health management in the region, was also inaugurated by Director General of Health Services Dr Ahmed Ashraf.

In her address, the First Lady emphasised that holistic well-being, including physical, mental, and spiritual health, is essential to national progress, and stressed the importance of ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare, particularly in regional communities.

She also highlighted the role of innovation and digital technology in enhancing healthcare delivery, describing President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s “Maldives 2.0” initiative as a key step towards building a modernised health system.

The event also featured a recognition segment where the First Lady presented commemorative plaques to individuals and organisations who contributed to the hospital’s development, including retired staff members. Employees were also recognised for outstanding performance and long service, with awards presented for 10, 20, and 30-year milestones.
