President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to Singapore on the occasion of its National Day, conveying his best wishes to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the Government, and the people of Singapore.

In his message shared on X, President Dr Muizzu expressed hope for Singapore’s continued progress, peace, and prosperity, praising the nation as a “great nation” where unity and development remain defining qualities.

Highlighting the strong ties between the two nations, the President noted that relations between the Maldives and Singapore have strengthened in recent years, built on trust, understanding, and reciprocal benefit. He reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to exploring new avenues for cooperation.

The Maldives and Singapore established diplomatic relations on 20 March 1979 and have since maintained close cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and tourism.
