President concludes tour of Baa Atoll

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu returned to Malé on Thursday, after concluding his tour of 13 inhabited islands in Baa Atoll, where he met with local councils, women’s development committees, institution leaders, and residents to discuss community needs and development priorities.
The President’s itinerary included Kamadhoo, Kudarikilu, Kendhoo, Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Goidhoo, Fehendhoo, Fulhadhoo, Hithaadhoo, Kihaadhoo, Dhonfanu, Dharavandhoo, and Maalhos. Accompanied by Government ministers and corporate representatives, the delegation reviewed ongoing projects and introduced upcoming initiatives for each island.
During the visit, the Bank of Maldives launched new ATM services across the atoll, and construction began on police stations in Maalhos, Fehendhoo, Thulhaadhoo, and Goidhoo. The President also announced the decision to allocate Maamaduvvari to Hithaadhoo and Innafushi to Fulhadhoo, confirmed plans to commence land acquisition for Thulhaadhoo Airport, and outlined upgrades to Dharavandhoo Airport.
Development agreements were signed in various sectors, with projects set to roll out in 2025 and beyond. In his addresses, President Dr Muizzu reiterated his commitment to genuine decentralisation, empowering communities, and ensuring that Government decisions are made in close consultation with the people.
