President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the ‘Ihusaas’ art exhibition at the National Art Gallery Thursday night, organised by renowned Maldivian artist Abdulla Faiz to celebrate the nation’s heritage and contemporary life.

The exhibition, running from 6 to 16 August, features 50 paintings depicting Maldivian artefacts, cultural traditions, and everyday scenes, alongside works highlighting artistic influences from neighbouring countries. The collection offers visitors an insight into both the historical and modern identity of the Maldives, reflecting its connections within the region.

During his visit, President Dr Muizzu toured the gallery, viewed the artworks, and signed the exhibition’s guestbook. The event, attended by art enthusiasts and cultural advocates, also underscored the significance of supporting creative industries in the country.

Faiz expressed hope that ‘Ihusaas’ would inspire greater recognition and encouragement for local artists, helping the Maldivian art sector to grow and flourish.
