Alifu Alifu Bodufolhudhoo council has raised concerns on several issues, including a housing initiative and the development of the health centre.
These issues were raised during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Bodufolhudhoo, where he met with the Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss the island’s most pressing development priorities. The meeting took place at the Bodufolhudhoo Council Secretariat.
One of the key issues raised by the island council was the importance of a new housing initiative to address the island’s housing challenges.
The Council also urged the Government to resolve the island’s sanitation issues, initiate integrated tourism development, and allocate a picnic island for community use.
The Bodufolhudhoo School highlighted the urgent need for a multi-purpose hall to support its activities.
The Council also pressed the Government to upgrade the island’s health centre, with the goal of extending operations to sixteen hours a day and introducing X-ray diagnostic services.
In response, President Dr Muizzu assured that the Government will pursue practical solutions to the concerns raised, while also sharing updates on ongoing development projects.
He was accompanied at the meeting by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises.
