More than 1,800 people have signed agreements under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme, according to Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC).

FDC said that as of 21 August, agreements had been signed with 1,826 recipients, while a total of 2,774 people have been scheduled for signing. The process, which officially began on 21 July, is being carried out at the synthetic track in Hulhumalé Phase 1.

The corporation said it is working to accelerate the process and aims to complete the signing with all flat recipients by September. Recipients are required to upload necessary documents through FDC’s Fahi Portal before attending signing sessions.

FDC has urged applicants to pay close attention to documentation in order to speed up the number of agreements that can be finalised each day. The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure is also taking steps to speed up processing, including shortening deadlines for uploading documents, expanding staff capacity, and providing additional training.
