Brigadier General Nasheed retires after 37 years of service

Brigadier General Ahmed Nasheed has retired from the armed forces after 37 years of distinguished service.
A special ceremony was held last night at the Bandarakoshi Auditorium to commemorate the occasion. Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon presented Brigadier General (Retd) Ahmed Nasheed with a letter of appreciation in recognition of his service, on behalf of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
The ceremony also included presentations by senior military officials. The Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, handed over the decoration board to the retiring officer, while the Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Ahmed Ghiyas, presented him with the symbolic Card of Retirement.
Brigadier General Nasheed ended his career as Director General of the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management (J4/J8) and Commander of the Ordnance Service. During nearly four decades in uniform, he held several important positions and contributed significantly to the progress of the armed forces.
As part of the ceremony, a video presentation was screened showcasing his 37 years in the military. A formal citation outlining his career and achievements was also read during the event.
The ceremony was attended by MNDF general officers, unit commanders, officers, warrant officers, command sergeant majors, and personnel from both the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management (J4/J8) and the Ordnance Service.
