SME Digital, formerly known as SDFC, has launched a new financing facility aimed at helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) acquire essential business assets.
The programme allows existing businesses in all sectors to access financing for equipment, machinery, business vehicles, and vessel mechanisation. Financing is offered under Shariah-compliant terms, with amounts starting from MVR 100,000 up to MVR 5 million.
Unsecured financing of up to MVR 1 million is available with a tenure of seven years and a six-month grace period. Secured financing offers a tenure of up to ten years with a twelve-month grace period. The annual profit rate ranges between 9 and 10.5 per cent.
SME Digital stated that the facility is intended to improve access to asset financing and support businesses seeking to expand operations or enhance productivity. CEO Badhurudheen Hassan said the initiative aims to address financial challenges faced by existing businesses and help them acquire equipment and machinery needed for growth.
Applications can be submitted through the SME Digital portal.
