Minister of State for Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure Ahmed Nazim Mohammed has announced that applicants to the “Aailee Boahiyaavahikan” programme will be able to view their scores instantly upon submission.

Aailee Boahiyaavahikan programme is the Government’s housing initiative under the Gedhoruveriyaa programme aimed at addressing the growing housing needs.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with MMTV’s “Niulhemundhaa Khabaru” programme, Nazim explained that applications will be submitted through an online portal, where points will be displayed immediately. He stressed that no system will later adjust or assign marks, ensuring transparency from the outset.

Nazim noted that in the past, housing projects in the Maldives were evaluated inconsistently, with points awarded in different ways. This, he said, often left those most in need without housing. The new system, he emphasised, is designed to be transparent and fair, giving applicants greater confidence and satisfaction.

The Minister added that while marks will be automatically generated upon submission, a verification process will follow to confirm the authenticity of the information provided. If any details are found to be invalid, the application will be rejected.

Nazim concluded that the Government’s approach reflects its commitment to fair housing allocation and to ensuring that opportunities reach those who need them most.
