The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has introduced simplified procedures for Government employees applying for special medical leave, aimed at ensuring timely access to health-related absences.
Under the revised rules, civil servants can now submit their requests, together with supporting documents, directly to the CSC, with copies sent to their respective offices. The change is designed to reduce bureaucratic delays in securing approval.
The updated guidelines require applications to be filed within 15 days of the leave’s start date, using the Special Health Needs Leave Application Form.
The CSC, which oversees approximately 26,000 civil servants responsible for implementing Government policies, described the reform as part of its commitment to employee welfare.
Officials said the streamlined process is intended to balance efficiency with accountability, ensuring that staff can access medical leave without unnecessary administrative hurdles.
