The Government’s ‘Hiousing for All’ project will be completed within the current presidential term, Minister of State for Housing, Ahmed Nazim Mohamed has stated.

Speaking on MMTV’s Niulhemundha Khabaru, the State Minister said the project is expected to be completed within approximately two and a half years, enabling beneficiaries to move into the housing units during the current Administration. He confirmed that work is already under way to meet this timeline.

State Minister Nazim noted that housing projects totalling 6,700 units have been awarded nationwide, with construction already in progress on several sites. He added that multiple housing projects projects are scheduled to commence within this year, with implementation periods ranging between 24 and 30 months.

The largest of these initiatives in the Greater Malé Region is the development of 3,000 housing units, making it the most extensive housing project in the area to date. Land for this development has been awarded by the Bank of Maldives to two contractors.

The State Minister reiterated that the scale and timelines of the ongoing and planned projects are aligned with the Government’s objective of delivering long-term housing solutions within the current presidential term.
