President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with senior representatives of cargo clearance companies operating at the Malé Commercial Harbour to discuss challenges faced in unloading goods.

During the meeting, the representatives were given the opportunity to outline difficulties encountered in cargo clearance operations at the harbour. Key concerns raised included freight operating hours, the adequacy of existing facilities and the need to strengthen administrative and operational systems.

The President assured that the Government would work to identify appropriate solutions to the issues raised.

President Dr Muizzu has been holding consultations with various stakeholders to ensure Government policies are developed in line with the needs of those directly affected. As part of these efforts, he also met with members of the SME community in December 2025.
