First Lady and Chief Guide Sajida Mohamed attended the 2025 Annual General Meeting of the Maldives Girl Guides Association, held on Saturday.

A guard of honour was presented to First Lady, who attended the event alongside the guest of honour, Niumath Shafeeq, Chair of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

During the meeting, members approved the minutes of the 2024 General Meeting, the association’s 2025 Annual Report, and its financial statements. As part of the ceremony, a token of appreciation was presented to Niumath, Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of WAGGGS, in recognition of her contributions.

The event was attended by officials of the Maldives Girl Guides Association as well as a large number of girl guides from across the country.

The Maldives Girl Guides Association has been a member of WAGGGS since 1999 and is a prominent non-profit, volunteer-led national organisation focused on empowering girls and young women throughout the Maldives.
