The Maldives National University (MNU) has opened applications for doctoral studies in two academic fields.

MNU said applications are now open for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes in Applied Sciences and Engineering.

Applicants are required to submit an online application form along with a statement of interest or a research proposal. The deadline for submission is 2:00 pm on Thursday, 26 March 2026, and applications must be submitted through the university’s online portal.

The university said applicants seeking further guidance on preparing a statement of intent or research proposal may contact MNU by phone at or via email.

MNU said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen higher education in the Maldives by expanding access to advanced academic opportunities locally and enhancing postgraduate education and research capacity.
