The Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has concluded the second batch of its Certificate I in Basic Correctional Officers Training Programme, with 19 officers graduating at a ceremony held at Maafushi Prison.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zareer, who underscored the role of correctional officers in upholding the law and maintaining institutional discipline. He urged the newly qualified officers to uphold their oath of service, act with integrity, and carry out their duties with professionalism. The Commissioner also highlighted the importance of discipline, commitment to public service, and maintaining professional standards among prison personnel.

The training programme forms part of the mandatory foundational training for newly recruited correctional officers and focuses on core responsibilities, legal obligations, professional conduct, and operational procedures within correctional facilities.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to officers who demonstrated outstanding performance during the course.
