Distribution of canned tuna cases under the Government’s Roadha Hadhiyaa programme has been completed in the Greater Malé area.
Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar said in a post on X that the distribution process in the capital region concluded last night.
He stated that households in Malé that have not yet received the canned tuna cases for any reason will still be able to collect it until the first day of Ramadan. Collection arrangements have been made at the MIFCO centre in Malé from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Minister expressed appreciation to all institutions and individuals involved in implementing the programme.
Statistics shared on 9 February indicate that 46,147 tuna cases had been distributed across the Malé area at that time. The Greater Malé region has 65,230 registered domestic electricity meters, which are used as a reference for household distribution.
Distribution in Malé commenced on 24 January. While the process has now concluded in the capital, island and city councils are continuing the rollout of tuna cases in the atolls.
