Saudi Arabia donates 15 tonnes of dates to Maldives

The government of Saudi Arabia has donated 15 tonnes of dates to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, with a further 50 tonnes set to be provided for distribution to the Maldivian public.
Saudi Arabia extends the donation of dates to the Ministry on an annual basis, alongside additional consignments distributed among households across the country.
The latest consignment was formally handed over on Monday by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, during a ceremony held in Malé City.
The Saudi Embassy confirmed that beyond the 15 tonnes presented to the Ministry, the Saudi Government has decided to donate an additional 50 tonnes of dates this year. The shipment is expected to arrive in the Maldives shortly.
Additionally, an iftar programme launched under the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has commenced in the Maldives. Under the initiative, iftar meals are being provided daily to 150 individuals
