The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that applications will open on 24 March for specific categories of applicants under the Binveriyaa scheme, following the introduction of a new policy aimed at addressing issues encountered under the land allocation programme.

According to the Ministry, the application window will open at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 24 March, and remain open until 11:59 p.m. on 30 April. Applications must be submitted through the Government’s housing portal at boahiyaavahikan.housing.gov.mv.

Under the policy, 1,250 square foot land plots will be allocated from Rasmalé. The special policy introduces two main categories of applicants eligible to apply.

The first category includes individuals who previously received land through joint applications under the Binveriyaa scheme and now wish to separate the allocation.

The second category applies to individuals who were unable to apply for the Binveriyaa scheme earlier because they had been allocated housing under a Government’s housing programme.

The Ministry stated that the policy outlining eligibility criteria, required documentation and the points-based evaluation process has now been published in the Government Gazette.
