Dharan’boodhoo delivers clean sweep for PNC in Saturday’s elections

Dharan’boodhoo PNC elects
The People’s National Congress (PNC) secured all six seats in Faafu Dharan’boodhoo in Saturday’s Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections, including both President positions.
PNC candidate Abdul Hameed Adam was elected as President of the Dharan’boodhoo Council, securing 192 votes. His opponent from the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Adam Mohamed, received 138 votes.
The council’s women’s member seat was also won by a PNC candidate, with Nadheema Ahmed securing 196 votes. MDP candidate Najuma Abdulla received 147 votes.
In addition, PNC candidate Aryuash Mohamed was elected as a council member, receiving 203 votes.
For the WDC, the President position was won by PNC candidate Leela Ibrahim.
The two WDC member positions were also secured by PNC candidates, with Rugiyya Ibrahim and Shabana Waheed elected to the posts.
The results mark a clean sweep for PNC in Dharan’boodhoo, with the party winning all council and WDC seats on the island.
