President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have departed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday, 6 April, to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.

The President’s Office stated that all hospitality and expenses for the visit will be covered by the government of Saudi Arabia, with arrangements finalised in February 2026.

President Dr Muizzu and the First Lady also travelled to Saudi Arabia last year to perform the Hajj pilgrimage as guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
