President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has paid tribute to Ahmed Adam, fondly known as “Petrel Ahmedbe”, following his passing, remembering him as a dedicated figure who made lasting contributions to the Maldives’ hospitality sector.

Ahmed Adam devoted more than five decades to food and beverage services, becoming a familiar and respected name in Malé. His journey began with Guraabuthundi Hotel over 55 years ago, before he went on to establish Petrel Hotel, a place that earned the trust and loyalty of generations. Beyond his work in hospitality, he played a key role in providing catering services to major government institutions, leaving a lasting mark on the industry.

In a message shared on X, President Dr Muizzu highlighted Ahmed Adam’s contributions to the development of Machangolhi, noting that his impact extended beyond business into the wider community.

He also recognised Ahmed Adam’s support for sports, including his contributions to Club Lagoons and Victory Sports Club.

Ahmed Adam is remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his dedication to community and service.
